8:30 pm update:

Earlier in the evening, an RCMP aircraft was on scene helping with the search for Chase Martens. The search continues, with no new updates from the RCMP. 

4:38 pm update:

 

The search continues at this time for Chase Martens. Hundreds of volunteers remain at the scene, searching nearby fields. Air support from Winnipeg police and the RCMP also remains in the area.

Riding Mountain candidates come to Rapid City

Rapid City and District Chamber of Commerce would like to extend an invitation to participate in their candidate night scheduled for 7 p.m. at Rapid City Legion Hall on Tuesday, April 5. The chamber is presenting candidate night as a venue for residents in Riding Mountain Constituency to learn about how the different candidates and their party platforms best represent what they believe in for the next provincial government of Manitoba. Rapid City and District Chamber of Commerce has a history of hosting successful candidate nights to past elections and the community’s location provides an ideal central location for communication to the south-central part of the constituency.

Agreement struck for study of wastewater lagoon

Wastewater lagoon study

The Town of Neepawa has agreed to a cost sharing agreement with the Manitoba Water Services Board. The deal will cover the cost of a wastewater lagoon study. The expense will be shared on a 50/50 basis to a project value of $200,000.

Second history book published

Glenella History Book Committee

Glenella History Book committee is happy to report a second book has been published on this area. On March 16, 2013 several residents from the RM of Glenella met at the Glenvilla Centre where the decision was made that the history of the area could be updated, since it was 25 years since 1,500 books were printed and all sold out.
