Canada’s Fiddling Sensation, Calvin Vollrath, is returning to Neepawa. He will be giving a concert on Sunday, May 1 at the Roxy Theatre starting at 2:00 p.m. Tickets will be sold for rush seating. This is being sponsored by NACTV and is a fundraising event for them.

Rivers 50 Plus Club met on March 24 with president Ken Young in the chair and 20 members present; two new members have joined us. Games co-ordinator Wayne Brown reported members have been busy taking part in regional games. They played whist in Hamiota, floor curling in Birtle, cribbage in Newdale, darts in Rapid City, spades in Elkhorn, floor shuffle in Hamiota and pool in Neepawa.

Westman audiences are in for a treat between April 18 and 23 when Strathclair Drama Club presents Once Upon a Mattress at 7:30 p.m. each evening. It's a fun and inexpensive night out with friends or family. Tickets for the musical go on sale on Saturday, April 2 at 10 a.m. They can be purchased in person or over the phone (204-365-2436) and paid for by cash or cheque. The box office will be open until 4 p.m. on April 2, and then from 10 a.m. until noon on weekdays from April 4 to 15. Don’t despair if you don’t get through on April 2, just keep calling or visit the box office to purchase tickets or be added to a waiting list!

Riverdale Harvest gratefully accepted the offer of Zion Church to set up our food bank in a room in their basement. Because of Lesley McFadden and her Grade 11 students, available board members and their family members who came, we were able to move the food bank and set it up in approximately two hours!
