St. James’ Anglican Church’s annual pancake and sausage supper was held Tuesday, Feb. 9. It was enjoyed by a large attendance of people, including little ones and a two-week old baby girl, new daughter of Chris and Sarah Belcher (nee Frank).

Volunteer vies for votes to make donation

Janice Meadows quite literally grew up golfing. 

“My parents, Allen and Elaine Campbell, owned Riverview Golf Course east of Brandon back in the 1960s/early ‘70s, so I grew up with golf right out the back door. Our whole family — Mom, Dad, my brothers and I, and even my grandma — were involved either looking after the clubhouse, mowing grass or raking sand greens. Almost 50 years later, I am still involved in the sport.

Community helps family on way to recovery

A family from Brookdale has been receiving immense support from friends and strangers over the past few weeks. In January of 2015, Rob Hollohan was in a snowmobile accident and suffered a severe brain injury. He has since been on the road to recovery and the family cannot afford the latest therapy he needs. A friend of the family, Kylia Carew, set up a gofundme account on Jan. 28 of this year to help raise the money they need.

Neepawa Fire Chief addresses Rotary luncheon

Long time Neepawa Fire Chief Scott Gibson laid out his department’s plans at the Neepawa Rotary meeting on Feb. 12.

“We have two exciting things happening, one is the new fire truck and the other is the new fire hall,” said Gibson.

Neepawa shows its support for NACTV

On Thursday, Feb. 11, NACTV held Showcase, their annual talent show fundraiser. The event was hosted at the Roxy Theatre and broadcast across Canada. Showcase raised just over $9,000 on the night and donations since have put the final count past the $10,000 mark, which was the goal.
