RDHA hosts regional meeting

On April 20 Riverdale District Health Auxiliary (RDHA) hosted the annual regional meeting for Assiniboine Northeast, which is made up of six auxiliaries. Forty out-of-town auxilians from Hamiota, Neepawa, Rossburn, Minnedosa and Russell joined RDHA at Rivers Legion Hall. Dignitaries included Riverdale Municipality’s mayor Todd Gill, RM of Oakview’s representative Dick Heapy and local area manager Greg Paddock. All extended welcomes and greetings to the ladies and all are very appreciative of the work our auxiliaries have done over the years for their communities.

Razzamatazz makes memories

Razzamatazz Dance Club held its 26th annual recital late last month and they named this year’s program Making Memories. Following on the success of last year’s first ever presentation in Brandon, the 2016 showcase was once again held in that city and the amphitheatre seating of Western Manitoba Centennial Auditorium.

Youth job centre in Rivers open for the summer

Rivers’ Manitoba Youth Job Centre (MYJC) is open once again for the summer! Centres across Manitoba are in their 41st year of successfully supporting youth employment in Manitoba. MYJC in Rivers is sponsored by Manitoba Education and Training, in partnership with Riverdale Municipality, and serves the communities of Rivers, Forrest, Alexander and Wheatland.

Supper lacks support

Forty-five people attended the Legion Branch No. 75 (Rivers) barbecue supper held in the downstairs clubroom on Sunday, May 15. Organizer Cheri Clark, clubroom manager Kathy Davis and staff expected a larger crowd.
