80 years ago, Friday, Nov. 13, 1936
Lesley Gunn had his right hand badly cut Monday afternoon while sawing wood north of Springhill. He was brought to Neepawa hospital and had his thumb amputated.
70 years ago, Thursday, Nov. 21, 1946
Mr. Herbert Cottingham, chairman and general manager of the Manitoba Power Commission since 1933, retired Oct. 31 and Mr. W.D. Fallis, formerly comptroller, has been appointed general manager.
Mr. W.D. Fallis, who now holds the position of general manager of the commission, was born in Neepawa and completed his education in Portage La Prairie, where he was residing when he joined the construction staff of the commission in 1930. He later held various positions in the held office staff, including that of statistician.

Hundreds pack Yellowhead Hall for Remembrance Day ceremony

The Yellowhead Hall was filled to capacity on Friday, Nov. 11, as Neepawa paid tribute to those who have served and sacrificed to protect our freedom. Hundreds of people, running the gamut of nationalities, ages and religious beliefs, paused in respectful silence during the annual Remembrance Day ceremony.
