In the 1957-58 season,  the Neepawa West Park Bantam “BB” hockey club were the provincial champions, winning the Clint Bennest Memorial Trophy.

80 years ago.  Friday, Dec. 11, 1936: The skating rink opened Tuesday night with a good crowd in attendance. The ice cut up badly in spots, which was to be expected in view of the last minute rush to get the rink open. It is hoped the conditions will be overcome by early installation of a heating coil to provide hot water for flooding purposes.

Child care in Neepawa just got a big boost, with two donations from HyLife Foods. With both Budz ‘n Bloom and Neepawa Early Learning looking to expand, on Dec. 15, representatives from HyLife Foods presented both Neepawa-based day cares with a donation of $15,000 each.

Riding Mountain National Park

The members of the Riding Mountain Union-Management Consultative Committee received several nominations for the Riding Mountain national Park Superintendent’s Award of Excellence for the month of November. They would like to recognize the following individual and group team members who deserve special recognition for a job well done.

The Ladies Orange Benevolent Association, Primrose #203, Neepawa, Manitoba was instituted April 12, 1915. After 101 years, Primrose #203 of Neepawa, Ladies Orange Benevolent Association is sad to be closing their doors on Dec. 31, 2016.
