Edna Sinclair attended Teacher's School after graduating from NACI and taught school for two years before taking on a secretarial job with Simplot in Brandon. She worked at Simplot for 33 years. She married Rod Klecknor in 1969 and both of them retired in 1999. They moved to Medicine Hat, Alberta in 2005, where they currently reside. Edna has two step-childen, six grandchildren and one great grandchild.

70 years ago. Thursday, Feb.6, 1947: A delegation composed of W.A. Howden, D.M.D. Geroge Rey and C. T. Pedlar presented petitions containing 130 signatures asking the council to submit a money bylaw to the ratepayers of the town to cover the cost of  construction of a modern, up-to-date, 50 bed hospital on present hospital grounds.

Helping kids to hit the ice

A national program has arrived in Neepawa that’s looking to get more kids playing hockey. On Saturday, Jan. 28 at the Yellowhead Hall, 29 children (16 boys - 13 girls)  between the ages of 6 to 10 years old were fitted with a full set of hockey equipment as part of the Canadian Tire First Shift program.

It was a night of colorful, flying storytellers in Gladstone on Jan. 19. No, the circus wasn’t in town, it was the superstar professional wrestlers from CWE (Canadian Wrestling’s Elite).
