McCreary actress becoming an award ceremony regular

To be a consistently working actor in the film industry can be extremely difficult, but Tammy Gillis has found a way. Of course, the growing list of awards and accolades upon her shelf may be helping to ensure that the Dauphin born and McCreary raised performer stays in demand.

Holiday cheer arrives on the Holiday Train

The holiday season is back and along with it, the wonderful annual tradition of the Canadian Pacific Railways’ Holiday Train. The lights and music make it fun for everyone involved. This was Neepawa’s first year as a featured stop on the Holiday Train schedule. The train arrived ahead of schedule on Sunday, Dec. 3 and the Neepawa area residents appeared to greet it in full force. With an estimated 1,500 people from across the region gathered to see the train, both CP Rail officials and local leaders are deeming this a very successful debut.

On Nov. 18 the ladies of Roman Catholic parish were happy to welcome people to their annual St. Nicholas tea. The weather was cold and crisp, but the hall was warm and inviting! We are grateful for your support and we hope you had a good time.

The latest in the heating line is an automatic stove that burns sawdust. Although they are quite common in sawmill districts elsewhere, very few around here have ever seen one in operation. A farmer northwest of here sets them up and he has purchased a great quantity of sawdust at the sawmills in Riding Mountain with which he will supply the stoves he has installed.
