Those who would like a bumpy ride should drive over some local parking lots and back lanes. After a wheel hits the first pothole, speed is immediately reduced, only to get ready for the next hole.

There are many back yards that are atrocious with junk suitable for the refuse grounds; junk that was not set out for pickup during Rivers’ annual free town clean-up campaign. And there are many old vehicles parked in residential back yards; Rivers has a derelict vehicle bylaw which apparently isn’t being enforced.

In contrast, there are some yards adorned with flowers and groomed beautifully.
