By a 13 to 2 vote, the board of the Neepawa and Area Lily Festival passed a resolution to cease operations last Thursday evening. Despite optimism following a community meeting held in early October, board chair Brent Hunter said that the decision was made due to a lack of volunteers willing to sit on the organizing committee.

With the help of Kinley Thomson Chartered Accountants' Chase Critchlow, Neepawa Banner owner/publisher Ken Waddell and editor Kate Jackman-Atkinson drew the Shop Hometown prize winners today. Hundreds see Santa in Rivers

Temperatures reaching single digits on Saturday, Dec. 6 are credited for filled streets in Rivers during the Santa Claus parade, an annual event sponsored by Rivers and District Chamber of Commerce. More than 20 floats left Rivers Elementary School and passed by the hospital and some senior lodges before reaching the downtown district.

Last weekend, a talented cast from Arden performed Eddie McPherson’s The One That Got Away. This dinner theatre production was performed by the Arden Theatre Group and staged at the Arden Community Centre.
