The last two weeks of December the ladies afternoon and evening curlers at Rivers Curling Club celebrated the Christmas season with a shortened curling game, a bevy of assorted wonderful goodies, some Christmas songs and fashionable “Christmas-inspired” attire.

Checkstop stats seem to improve

Week three of the RCMP Holiday Checkstop Program (Dec. 15-21) resulted in 2,863 vehicles checked at 90 stops. Thirteen people were charged with either impaired driving (alcohol) or driving over .08.

French decoration for Kenton Man

On Monday, Dec. 22 at an afternoon ceremony in his hometown of Kenton, John Carl Roseveare was awarded by order of the president of France, the rank of Knight of the French National Order of the Legion of Honour.
