Looking for an easy read before drifting off to sleep, I selected “Roughing It in the Bush”, by Susanne Moodie. The opening page is simply titled – Advertisement–  and it explains that “Though known as an authoress in Canada, and a member of a family which has enriched English literature with works of very high popularity”, the writer is still resident in the far-west of Canada.

For the second year in a row, the Manitoba Women’s Institute (MWI) is hosting Manitoba Rural Women’s Day, and this year’s theme is all about how a healthy mind is one of the greatest treasures a woman can have.

Physicians, contractors, primary care clinic committee members, and representatives from local municipalities gather to break ground for the construction of the new Dr. Ajai Khandelwal Primary Care Centre, to be built just West of the Minnedosa District Health Centre.

Salvation Army is on the move

After years of numerous starts and stops, Neepawa’s Salvation Army is ready to go with its relocation. The charitable organization’s thrift store will be moved out of its existing location at 309 Davidson, into a new space within the former Co-op building, by the end of the month.
