After months of hard work and preparation, Neepawa Tourism is ready to debut its new logo and branding campaign. An official unveiling of the brand strategy has been scheduled for Tuesday, May 22 at the Arts Forward Cultural Centre.

It will feature a free barbecue for the public starting at 5:30 p.m., followed by the presentation of the campaign logo and tagline at 6:30 p.m.

The arrival of this day has been a long time coming for a group of community members involved with the creation of the tourism brand. Neepawa Tourism task force member Rrain Prior said they are really looking forward to sharing the details with the community.

“It’s been tough over the past few weeks keeping all of this a secret, but now, we’re able to showcase the brand and celebrate this day with the community,” said Prior. “With the unveiling set for [May 22], we wanted to do this in grand style. This event is open to everyone and we hope that people come down to ArtsForward and be a part of the announcement.”

Neepawa Tourism worked with Travel Manitoba on the project. Colin Ferguson, the president and CEO of Travel Manitoba, said they were thrilled with working with this branding initiative and are optimistic that it truly reflects Neepawa’s unique characteristics and attractions.

The initiative has been spearheaded by Neepawa Tourism, a group composed of community members interested in improving the town’s tourism profile. The process began in January with a public meeting at ArtsForward, attended by about 40 people, as well as representatives with the Town of Neepawa and Travel Manitoba. From that initial meeting, a small group of people volunteered to take part in the creation of the brand.

Similar branding campaigns have already occurred in Portage la Prairie, Morden/Winkler and Clear Lake. Other communities, including Brandon, Thompson, Steinbach and Dauphin have also approached Travel Manitoba inquiring about participating in the program in the future.
