A & B Dalrymple Greenhouse celebrates 30th year

A visit with Barbara and Alan Dalrymple has become a spring tradition for many people in and around the Minnedosa area over the course of 30 years.

What started as something small has flourished incredibly over the past years.

This year marks a special, rare occurring occasion for Minnedosa residents Barbara and Alan Dalrymple. Thanks to their loyal customers, they are now celebrating their 30 year since the opening of their environmentally conscious greenhouse operation.

“It’s hard to believe it’s been 30 years already,” Barbara Dalrymple said in disbelief. “The years have flown past!”

“A lot of people are surprised when they actually come in here,” Dalrymple explained in the interview. “We started out really small with just a little greenhouse, but we have four nice big greenhouses now.” The pair have added a tea room to one of the greenhouses, which they hope to use more often in the future, as well as a water feature. Patrons are also able to view fish and baby lambs, giving them a farm experience that so many people miss out on.

Although the Dalrymples may have expanded, their goal is still the same. The co-owners aim to provide the unique country garden feel, while still providing all the newest varieties of flowers alongside the old. They believe this sets them apart from larger competing greenhouses or stores and is key to creating the loyal and supportive relationship they have with their customers. The Dalrymples attend seminars on a regular basis to ensure they keep up to date and are gathering fresh ideas all the time.

Dalrymple expressed her deep gratitude for their patrons, saying “We’re really grateful to our many customers. So many of them have supported us over the last 30 years. Without them, we, of course, wouldn’t have a business.” Barbara and Alan Dalrymple seek to have something new every year to keep the experience fresh and interesting.
