The Tony Otten Award supporting the Polio Plus program was presented to Ron Nordstrom with an introduction by Wayne Hildebrand.

Neufeldt commented that in 1985 there were 1,000 new cases of polio reported every day but through prevention programs like Polio Plus, the number of cases now are very small. This year only 10 cases have been reported in 2018 so far.
