Arden firefighters bring down the house

On Saturday, Oct. 22, the Arden fire department had almost perfect weather for a planned fire.  Starting about noon, the fire department set about burning down the derelict house located on the town’s main street. Burning the house provided an excellent training opportunity for the department. While the house was destroyed, firefighters were able to protect the adjacent evergreens.
