On Friday, Sept. 16, Hazel M. Kellington elementary school held their annual Terry Fox run and following barbecue.
The school had two courses, one for students K to Grade 3, the other for students in Grades 4 and 5. The K to 3 students walked their course, which went south down Mountain Ave., West on Hamilton St., North on 5th Ave. and back to the school on Mill St. The course for students in Grades 4 and 5 went east down Brydon St., past the flats to Riverbend and then back to the school the same way. Grade 4 and 5 students were encouraged to run the course, but only from the bottom of the hill and back. They were asked to walk while travelling on the roads, to avoid any accidents.
Above: Some students decided to run down the hill on Brydon St, while others decided to take it a bit slower and walk.
Below: The Grade 4 and 5 students kept going East at the end of Brydon St., following the path all the way to their halfway point at Riverbend park
