Council Clips

RM of Oakview - June 14: Wastes have been pushed back at Rapid City landfill and a contractor hired to haul covering for the wastes.  A Rapid City Reservoir and Beach Committee has been formed to assist with improvements required. A quote for hooking water/sewer lines and additional streetlights into the proposed Rapid City Museum Subdivision was reviewed.

A borrowing bylaw for Rapid City utility upgrades passed third reading. Gravel haulers will be informed that the municipality is not in favour of selling municipal gravel to them for use on ratepayers’ lanes. Of three quotes received, council accepted that of Morris Sales & Service Ltd. to buy a new Kubota GF1800 front mount mower with a 60-inch deck, anti-scalp roller kit, a 47-inch sweeper and half drive line with side caster kit. The Citulsky proposal to subdivide part of SW 19-13-20W was approved. 

Finances: A used 2002 Ford F350 Crew Cab 4 x 4 mini pumper was bought from Rocky Mountain Phoenix for the negotiated price of $48,000, as per the terms agreed upon with Oak River’s fire chief. Of two quotes received, council accepted that of Profile Paving Ltd. to pave 670 by 22 by three feet on Miller Street, from the south side of North Railway Street to the newer asphalt, for $50,116; work is to be completed by July 15.

Council agreed to buy a used FLX-1510 Flex Arm, flex arm mount, six port valve kit and hose kit for the Schulte mower in Oak River for $8,500. Council donated $1,000 each to the Oak River Ag Society, Clack Family Museum and Rapid City Museum. Council joined Trans Canada Yellowhead Highway Association at a cost of $238.30. Accounts of $45,188.41 and unpaid invoices of $50,228.26 were passed for payment.
