Lemonade stand a huge success

Grade 1-2 students. Rivers Elementary

The weather might not have co-operated on our original date, but we were lucky to have a nice day on Friday, June 3 to hold our lemonade and cookie sale. The sale was awesome and many students, parents and community members came out to enjoy a cup of lemonade and a cookie.  

In the hour that our two stands were open, we raised an amazing $566.75 to donate to Fort McMurray. One stand was on the elementary school grounds while the other was on an empty lot on the south side of Second Avenue in downtown Rivers.

There were businesses who donated supplies, etc.: Rivers Home Hardware, Tempo Place Emporium, Rivers Bigway Foods, Westoba Credit Union, Rivers Banner, Rivers Laundromat and Clean Under Pressure. There were also a  number of parents who donated homemade cookies. Our successful sale was due to their support but also because of everyone who visited our stands and made donations to Fort McMurray. We appreciate you all!
