Fundraising in Rivers for Fort McMurray fire

On Tuesday, May 31 the Grade one and two students at Rivers Elementary School are having a lemonade stand to raise money for the fires in Fort McMurray. This idea started when students heard about how families have been affected by the fires and had to evacuate their homes. Students decided they wanted to help and that is when the idea of a lemonade stand started. 

Students are inviting community members to support their cause by coming out to buy a cup of lemonade.  Homemade cookies, baked by students and their parents, will also be for sale. You can find two lemonade stands set up next Tuesday, between 12 and 1 p.m. at the school grounds and on the lot west of Rivers Home Hardware. We look forward to seeing you there!
