Fatal crash claims one victim

Traffic was slowed to a stop yesterday evening, following an accident on Highway 5, north of Neepawa.

RCMP reports that on May 19, just before 5:00 pm, the Minnedosa RCMP were called to a report of a collision involving two vehicles on Highway 5 near Road 98 N, in the RM of Rosedale.

The initial investigation has revealed that a northbound car lost control after the vehicle left the pavement onto the soft shoulder. While trying to correct, the vehicle then travelled across the oncoming lane and struck a south bound pick up truck. A 72 year-old female from Saskatoon, a passenger in the car, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Both drivers involved were transported to hospital by ambulance for treatment and are in stable condition.
