Snoman (Snowmobilers of Manitoba) Inc. has released its free RiderX app which includes Snoman-designated trails. The app is available on Apple’s iOS and Android devices. The program is also available on the web at RiderX.com. You do not need the app to take advantage of the RiderX website, but it is essential while you are out tracking rides.
“This is a great step for Snoman as our riders have been asking when an app would be available,” says president Alan Butler. “We’ve worked with RiderX to integrate our snowmobile trails into the app.”
With this app you won’t have to guess because you’ll always have a map available. RiderX utilizes your cell phone’s GPS just like any other GPS-mapping app would. It allows you to download maps to work off-line as well. You basically plan your route and then download your ride to your device. The app allows you to add waypoints and to even tie a photo to a waypoint.
“This app lets you record your ride and then upload your tracks to your dashboard, which shows lodging, restaurants and fuel stops. This RiderX app is available at no cost to the user and includes all snowmobile trails in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Ontario, North Dakota, Minnesota and many other states.”
Snoman Inc., a not-for-profit organization, is dedicated to providing strong leadership and support to its member clubs to develop safe and environmentally-responsible snowmobile trails to further the enjoyment of organized recreational snowmobiling in Manitoba.
