Awesome Race coming next month

If you are a fan of the popular TV show Amazing Race and have always wanted to enter, check out Awesome Race for Breath! Teams of two fundraise for The Lung Association Manitoba to earn their place at the start line on Saturday, Oct. 24 at The Town Centre, Brandon. Teams solve clues to find 12 pit stops around the city to complete fun and zany challenges. The first team back wins! But it won’t be that easy! There are bump cards, detours and U-turns along the way to keep it interesting. You don’t have to be an athlete – the challenges are meant to be fun.

Grab a friend, your husband, wife, kid, boss, co-worker or old Aunt Sally! There are three team categories this year: individual, corporate and media/celebrity. The top three teams in each division will receive gold, silver and bronze medals, as well as prizes donated by local businesses. Teams start in descending order of monies raised; the top fundraising team will get a five-minute head start. In 2014 Awesome Race for Breath raised more than $6,000 and we plan to double that this year! Enter your team today and you can fundraise right up until race day. You will do some stuff you never thought you would, have some laughs and help someone to breathe better too!

Awesome Race for Breath is a fun event that raises important funds around something that is not so much fun – lung disease. Breathing is something we take for granted, unless you are the one in five Manitobans struggling for breath. While we can participate in an event like  Awesome Race for Breath, there are many who struggle for breath by simply walking across the room. You can help The Lung Association ensure Manitobans breathe with ease.
