Congratulations to Robin Routledge (formerly from Kenton) of Fort St. John, Alta. who was married on Saturday, Aug. 22. He is the son of Scott and Marcia Routledge; Gert Routledge (Hamiota) and the late Lyle Routledge and Lloyd and Betty Waterman are his grandparents.

Despite a stormy Saturday, Aug. 22, family, friends and people in the surrounding area gathered at the McLauchlin farm to celebrate 125 years that the farm has been in operation. Four generations have operated it from 1890-2015. Darryl now runs the farm; Orley and Adele have four children, Lynn, Marilyn, Orley Jr. and Darryl. Orley thanked everyone for coming and introduced his family, some present and others away. Lynn asked everyone to sign the quest book and gave the history of the farm. Denis Carter, Wallace-Woodworth reeve, brought greetings; he told them how he was pleased to be there representing the municipality that now goes all the way to Kirkella, Sask. due to amalgamation. He also told everyone he is a neighbour to the McLauchlin farm and that at one time, was their hired hand. He presented them with a plaque. Larry Maguire, federal Conservative candidate for Brandon-Souris also brought greetings . He was pleased to attend and said it was a great thing to not only have a farm operating for 100 years but now 125 years as well. Vicki and Ken Smith from Hamiota brought greetings from Manitoba Historical Society. A plaque was handed to the couple as well as a sticker for 125 years. The province of Manitoba, represented by Amir Farooq, presented the couple with a Heritage Farm sign for 125 years. A short time of visitation over coffee and cake followed the celebration. Orley and Adele moved to Brandon in 2001 to Monterey Estates on 18th Street on the North Hill.
