Riverdale Municipality, March 24: Warren Smallwood attended the meeting to discuss the possibility of having a master’s student from Brandon University use the lagoon as a project for a thesis study; all existing lagoon studies are available for review at the municipal office. Trees on Quebec Street that were trimmed by Manitoba Hydro’s contract will need to be removed; trees are leaning and roots are pushing up the sidewalk. Hydro will be contacted for costs and damages. Council agrees to a 50 per cent settlement on the liability claim with Manitoba Public Insurance for damages to a vehicle by a mower blade plate. A bylaw to establish a Recreation & Youth Development Reserve passed first and second readings. Mayor Todd Gill discussed moving forward with a plan to close a portion of Sioux Lane to allow for the transfer of land and proper access for residents.

Finances: Accounts of $149,133.59 and utility of $31,008.86 were passed for payment. Riverdale Municipality supports Riverdale Community Centre’s application to Hometown Manitoba for funding for a brick border and railing at the front entrance; Riverdale agrees to commit to the municipal funding portion of the grant in the amount of $9,341.95. Council accepted the Rock Country Gravel tender to crush 25,000 yards for $3.45 per cubic yard. Council accepted the  Gill Farms Ltd. tender to haul and spread gravel for 79 cents per cubic yard loading and 35 cents per cubic yard hauling.

RM of Oakview, April 7: A request for access into Block 31 Plan 28 NLTO was received; access is necessary before the agreement of purchase of land will be executed; council agreed to develop access if a new dwelling is established on the property. Drainage concerns in Township 15 Range 22 in Ward 3 and a request to improve a machinery road were referred to the Roads and Drainage Committee. The next meeting is April 14 at 9 a.m.
