Beautiful Plains Community Foundation encourages residents of Neepawa and area to make a gift on Nov. 15 as part of the Endow Manitoba 24-Hour Giving Challenge.

On that day only, The Winnipeg Foundation will stretch all online gifts made to the Community Fund via www.endowmanitoba.ca. (For every $5 contributed, The Winnipeg Foundation will add $1.) The Giving Challenge falls on National Philanthropy Day.

“This is a great opportunity to support Beautiful Plains Community Foundation,” says Brenda Kryschuk, executive director of Beautiful Plains Community Foundation. “Of course, we welcome gifts at any time, but giving on Nov. 15 will help our foundation and means extra support. The goal of the Beautiful Plains Community Foundation is to reach $10,000 in donations on November 15 to receive the maximum of $2,000 in matching funds from the Winnipeg Foundation.  If you require assistance completing the donation online contact the office and I will assist you!”

Gifts made on Nov. 15 will help grow the Beautiful Plains Community Foundation’s capacity to support a wide range of charitable projects in Neepawa, Brookdale and the RMs of Langford, Lansdowne, Glenella and Rosedale for generations to come.

Donations to a community foundation are pooled and permanently invested. Gifts are never spent and the money will always stay in the community. Every year, these investments generate money that is distributed to support local charitable needs. Community foundations provide support that lasts forever.

With 51 community foundations, Manitoba is home to more of these organizations than any other area of the country. Every year, these foundations invest millions of dollars into a wide range of local charitable projects. They help ensure our hometowns are vibrant and thriving.
